Piedmont Columbus Midtown's John B. Amos Cancer Center seeks a Lead Physicist to oversee physics services for planning and delivery of therapeutic radiation treatment, under the Radiation Oncologist's prescription.

This role provides technical leadership to physicians, dosimetrists and therapists, supervises QA across imaging and treatment equipment, mentors staff, and ensures regulatory compliance and documentation.

Qualifications

• MS in Medical Physics or related discipline.
• Five years of clinical experience in a radiation therapy department.
• Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiation Physics.
• Ability to be listed as an authorized user on the State of Georgia Radioactive Material Licenses.
• Participation in ABR Maintenance of Certification Program.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists to provide technical expertise for treatment programs (external beam, brachytherapy, radiosurgery, radiopharmaceuticals).
• Perform QA checks on all equipment per industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain documentation of commissioning, acceptance, and QA activities for review.
• Maintain expertise in treatment planning/delivery hardware and software; perform QA checks and peer reviews of plans.
• Perform physics chart checks and provide oversight for treatment delivery processes.
• Provide staff in-services; radiation safety education; participate in instruction of residents, dosimetry students, and rotating students.
• Participate in medical physics and radiation oncology initiatives; attend staff meetings; contribute to program growth.
