Job summary

Corewell Health Cancer Center at Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion in Grand Rapids is seeking a Therapeutic Medical Physicist to support ionizing radiation therapyDelivery, calibration, and planning. The role involves clinical and educational components, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualified candidates have a Master's in Radiological or Medical Physics (Doctorate preferred) and at least 5 years of experience, ABR/ABMP boards upon hire. Full-time day shift with 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Radiological or Medical Physics.
  • Doctorate in Radiological or Medical Physics preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant Therapeutic Medical Physicist experience including machine calibrations and dose calculations.
  • ABR and ABMP board certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, deliver, and optimize radiotherapy treatments and related equipment.
  • Perform radiation safety duties and regulatory compliance.

About the Unit

As the region's leader in radiation oncology services, Corewell Health Cancer Center at Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion provides radiation therapy to more patients than any other health care facility in West Michigan. Radiation oncology services are also available at our Holland and Reed City locations. We offer a full range of treatments and state-of-the-art technologies. The radiation oncology program at Spectrum Health is certified by the American College of Radiation Oncology.

About Outpatient Clinics

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of Work

Primarily and professionally engaged in the evaluation, delivery, and optimization of therapeutic applications of ionizing radiation, and the equipment associated with their production, use and measurement. Role involves clinical and educational components. Performs radiation safety duties as required for regulatory compliance and safe use of ionizing radiation.

Qualifications Required
  • Master's Degree or equivalent in Radiological or Medical Physics
  • Preferred Doctorate in Radiological or Medical Physics
  • Required 5 years of relevant experience as Therapeutic Medical Physicist: radiation oncology, including machine calibrations and radiation oncology treatment planning and dose calculations
  • CRT-Medical Physics - ABR American Board of Radiology Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Medical Physics - ABMP American Board of Medical Physics Upon Hire required
