Job summary

AdventHealth in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform pre- and post-analytical lab tasks, ensure quality results and support staff training. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of AdventHealth lab experience, with strong English communication and strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

The position offers a PRN night schedule and opportunities for professional growth within a faith-based healthcare system committed to the whole person care

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or related field.
• 2+ years of AdventHealth experience in lab setting preferred.
• Must have proper communication skills to convey information effectively and problem-solving/decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, checks, inventory control, specimen collection, processing, cleaning and disinfection.
• Conducts post-analytical activities including reporting results and providing technical support for all age groups.
• Completes tests and analytical procedures accurately according to SOPs.
• Participates in proficiency testing and adheres to regulatory and institutional policies.
• May act as a preceptor to train new staff and students.
