Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Physical Biological Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field is required.
• 3-4 years of clinical laboratory training and/or experience required.
• Certified Medical Lab Scientist-ASCP required or Certification waived after 7 years in a designated specialty.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates specimen adequacy for test performance; obtains specimens for analyses.
• Performs routine and specialized testing in assigned area; correlates findings with disease stage.
• Reviews and verifies test results; communicates abnormal results and ensures proper documentation.
• Maintains quality control and quality assurance; evaluates proficiency testing materials.
• Maintains supplies and equipment; ensures turnaround time standards are met; participates in training.
• Provides technical advice and support to laboratory personnel and leadership.
• Cross-trains and participates in department safety and performance monitoring.
