Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation seeks a laboratory professional to perform complex analyses across sample types, acting as a clinical and technical resource. The role includes leading workflow, mentoring staff, and driving quality improvement within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related field and at least three years in a clinical lab, with ASCP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, biology or related sciences and minimum of three years’ experience in a clinical laboratory required
• Three (3) years of experience in clinical laboratory required with a Bachelor’s degree, or five years with an Associate’s degree or Military Laboratory Technician program

Responsibilities

• Independently performs responsibilities of MLS I, MLS II and MLS III
• Leads quality improvement initiatives as a member of a multidisciplinary patient care services team
• Assists leadership with interviewing, orienting, training and supervising
• Collaborates with leadership to identify gaps and opportunities for development and strategic initiatives
• Assists leadership in identification and resolution of complex clinical and operational issues
• Responsible for regulatory and accreditation agency preparation and participation
• Performs all other duties as assigned
