North Central Baptist Hospitals is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to perform state-of-the-art laboratory testing and phlebotomy across patient ages, ensuring patient safety and accurate results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or equivalent as defined by CLIA High Complexity testing (42 CFR 493.1489)
• 3 years of experience as a medical technologist in an acute care facility
• Registered with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or CSMLS) within 12 months of hire; licensure as required by state

Responsabilités

• Process and test blood and other body fluid specimens for the clinical laboratory.
• Review test results and apply correct clinical interpretation.
• Report lab results accurately using a laboratory information system.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Perform venous and capillary phlebotomy and ensure specimen integrity.
• Maintain basic clerical functions and write procedures for department policies.
• Serve as a resource for medical technicians, MLS I, phlebotomists and other staff.
• Assist with new equipment validation, staff training, and regulatory compliance (CAP, TCJ, AABB, etc.).
• Participate in R&D projects as required and manage inventory and supplies.
