Qualifications

• 8–10 years of progressively responsible clinical laboratory experience in two or more sections.
• Certified Medical Lab Scientist-ASCP certification or equivalent; waiver after 15 years in specialty.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates specimen adequacy for test performance and collects specimens for analyses.
• Performs routine and specialized testing, correlates results with disease stage, and follows up on abnormal results.
• Reviews and verifies test results, documents results, and ensures proper quality control prior to release.
• Performs daily quality control/QA measures and tracks proficiency testing as required.
• Troubleshoots collection and instrumentation issues; maintains adequate reagents and supplies.
