Job summary

Minnesota Oncology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform moderate to high complexity testing, maintain equipment, and ensure quality control across chemistry, hematology and immunology. The role includes phlebotomy support, training staff, and adherence to QA and safety policies.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field with NAACLS accreditation and ASCP or equivalent certification; minimum three years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Medical Technology, Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science from an NAACLS accredited program.
• ASCP or equivalent certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
• Alternatively: Bachelor of Science in Chemistry/Biology with 12 hours chemistry and 12 hours biology plus ASCP.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen analysis and quality control for chemistry, hematology and immunology tests.
• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment; perform instrument maintenance and calibrations.
• Follow quality assurance procedures and OSHA standards; document results and QC activities.
• Assist with specimen collection (phlebotomy) and patient flow; train staff in procedures.
