Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician II to perform complex clinical testing across general laboratory, Blood Bank, and Microbiology sections. You will handle specimen collection, QC, proficiency testing, and communication of critical values to the medical team.

The role requires AL/CLIA-compliant education and either recent clinical rotation experience or a completed NAACLS-approved program.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in clinical laboratory science or equivalent training per CLIA 42CFR493.1489.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex laboratory testing across Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Blood Bank sections.
• Maintain QC and proficiency testing per CLIA, CAP, AABB, and JCAHO guidelines.
• Handle specimen collection, labeling, processing, and distribution of blood products as required.
• Operate automated analyzers and document preventive maintenance and reagent shelf-life.
• Utilize LIS and HIS systems to order, charge, and report results.
