Job summary

Health First in Florida seeks a Senior Medical Lab Scientist to oversee diagnostic testing and provide leadership within the clinical laboratory. The role covers chemistry, toxicology, transfusion services, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and point-of-care testing, ensuring accuracy and a high-quality patient experience.

The Sr MLS will manage quality control, EMR systems, data analysis, and collaboration with clinical departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field per CLIA.
• Two years MLS/MT experience with ASCP or equivalent.
• Florida Medical Technologist licensure per CLIA.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical lab testing across multiple disciplines ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
• Perform quality control tasks; assist with validation of new tests and equipment.
• Coordinate verification studies, method validation, and documentation.
• Maintain EMR competency and provide actionable reports to leadership.
• Lead QA/QC programs, safety, and coordination of inspections and corrective actions.
