Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist I (Technical Supervisor/Consultant) to oversee lab operations and ensure accurate test performance and reporting. The role emphasizes supervision of workstations, quality control review, training, and inventory management under CLIA guidelines.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory sciences or related field, ASCP certification, and 3–5 years of lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory sciences or related field.
• ASCP certification required (MLT/MT/MLA/Histologists).
• 3–5 years of laboratory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing, testing, reporting and record-keeping of results.
• Maintain proficiency testing and ensure testing mirrors patient samples.
• Adhere to quality control policies and document calibrations and maintenance.
• Follow corrective action policies when test systems are not within acceptable performance.
• Identify and address problems affecting test performance or reporting and notify supervisors.
• Document all corrective actions when test systems deviate from performance specifications.
