Job summary

Kite Pharma, Inc. is seeking a Senior Medical Director to provide strategic and scientific leadership for oncology development programs from early development through regulatory planning. You will influence portfolio strategy, oversee multiple studies, and partner with cross-functional teams to advance programs aligned with corporate objectives.

The role includes mentoring physicians, engaging with health authorities, and contributing to publications while traveling up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with 6+ years of clinical, scientific and/or drug development experience.
• Board certification in Hematology/Oncology or related specialty.
• Significant experience leading oncology drug development programs with clinical strategy and execution.
• Demonstrated experience leading first-in-human, proof-of-concept, and registrational development programs.
• Cell therapy experience preferred, including autologous, allogeneic, and/or in vivo cellular therapy platforms.
• Experience leading interactions with global health authorities and supporting major regulatory submissions.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive decisions in a matrix environment.
• Proven track record of scientific leadership through publications, presentations and advisory boards.
• Experience mentoring physicians, scientists and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical development strategy for oncology programs from IND-enabling to proof-of-concept milestones.
• Provide clinical oversight and monitoring across studies ensuring safety and data integrity.
• Lead cross-functional teams in design and execution of development plans and studies.
• Author and review protocols, briefs, study reports and regulatory documents.
• Provide strategic leadership for regulatory interactions and submissions.
• Collaborate with Research, Translational Sciences, Clinical Operations, Safety, Regulatory Affairs and CMC.
• Build relationships with investigators and key opinion leaders and external stakeholders.
• Present data and development strategies to governance committees and authorities; participate in publications.
• Mentor junior physicians and contribute to portfolio strategy and business development assessments.
