Job summary

GSK is seeking a Senior Medical Director for Oncology Clinical Development – Lung to provide medical oversight across study design, safety monitoring, and data interpretation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with external experts to shape programme strategy.

This on-site role requires leadership in protocol development, safety oversight, and scientific communications, with a focus on lung cancer drug development and regulatory interactions.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and completion of advanced specialty training, fellowship or country-equivalent higher-level qualification in oncology or haematology.
• Experience leading lung cancer drug development, including early phase trials.
• Clinical and pharmaceutical experience in oncology clinical development, with depth across multiple studies or programmes.
• Experience in medical monitoring, safety evaluation, and clinical data interpretation across clinical studies.
• Understanding of clinical development processes, GCP, ICH guidelines, and global regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior physician leader within the clinical programme, providing medical oversight and clinical insight across study design, conduct, and data interpretation.
• Provide guidance on medical monitoring and safety oversight across studies, ensuring consistent application of clinical judgement and patient safety standards.
• Interpret complex clinical and safety data, generating insights that inform programme-level decisions led by the CDL.
• Partner with the Senior Scientist and cross-functional teams to ensure medical considerations are integrated across study execution and programme delivery.
• Provide senior medical input into protocol development and study design, ensuring clinical relevance and patient-centred design within the clinical strategy defined by the CDL.
