Job summary

Health Staffing Group in Minneapolis, MN seeks a Senior Research & Development Engineer to lead medical device product development from concept through prototype, verification, and manufacturing readiness.

You will collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations to translate concepts into manufacturable solutions while mentoring junior engineers in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive R&D or product development experience in medical devices.
• Experience with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting in a regulated environment.
• Ability to manage projects and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development activities from concept through testing and manufacturing readiness.
• Develop, prototype, test, and improve medical device products and technologies.
• Provide hands-on engineering support during prototype and manufacturing builds.
• Troubleshoot product and process issues and develop technical solutions.
• Support design verification, validation, testing, risk management, and design control activities.
• Support NPI, design transfer, and manufacturing readiness activities.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, test documentation, and reports.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve product performance, manufacturability, and cost.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical direction.
