Job summary

Specialist Staffing Group is partnering with an emerging medical device company to hire a Senior R&D Engineer who will lead hands-on development from concept through commercialization. You’ll drive design and reliability improvements, prototype, test, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative devices to market.

You will develop new product concepts, support verification and validation, and work with manufacturing partners to scale products from development into production,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3–6+ years of product development experience in medical devices or regulated industries.
• Strong SolidWorks proficiency.
• Experience with prototyping, bench testing, design verification and validation.
• Ability to work with external suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders.

We’re partnering with an emerging medical device company that is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer to play a key role in the development of next-generation technologies from concept through commercialization. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on product development, rapid prototyping, testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative devices to market.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing new product concepts, driving design and reliability improvements, supporting verification and validation activities, and working closely with manufacturing partners to scale products from development into production. The position offers broad exposure across the entire product lifecycle, including design controls, risk management, supplier collaboration, process development, and transfer to manufacturing.

Key qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline
• 3-6+ years of product development experience within medical devices or a highly regulated industry
• Strong SolidWorks proficiency
• Experience with prototyping, bench testing, design verification, and validation
• Ability to work with external suppliers, contract manufacturers, and cross-functional stakeholders
• Strong understanding of design controls, risk management, and product development processes
