Job summary

Franklin Professional Associates is seeking a Sr Embedded Software Engineer for a leading medical device manufacturer in Acton, Massachusetts. In this role, you will join the New Product Development team to design and implement cutting-edge medical technology.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Computer Science or Engineering, 8+ years of experience, and strong skills in C/C++, Real-Time Operating Systems, and embedded software development.

Medical device experience is a plus, including familiarity with FDA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for embedded processing and driver development.
• Create requirements and specification documents.
• Execute unit tests as part of software validation.
• Integrate applications using in-house and third-party libraries.
• Document design using UML diagrams.
• Participate in peer design and code reviews.

Skills

C and/or C++ Language Skills

Perl/Python/Ruby or similar Scripting Language Skills

Understanding of concurrency concepts and techniques

Knowledge of State Machine based MCU software development

Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems

Solid understanding of fundamental algorithms

Knowledge of CAN bus and CANopen protocols

Multi-processor system-level testing and integration

Git version control

Continuous integration tools with Jenkins

Education

BS in Computer Science engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree
