Job summary

Mt Graham Regional Medical Center in Safford, AZ is seeking a Coding Supervisor to oversee daily medical coding operations and lead the coding staff to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant coding for diagnoses, procedures, and services.

The role requires 5+ years of coding experience, 3+ years in leadership, and CPC/CCS or equivalent certification with strong proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and payer guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of medical coding experience in a healthcare setting.
• At least 3 years in a lead, supervisory, or progressive leadership role.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent from AAPC or AHIMA.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and payer-specific guidelines.
• Experience with coding audits, compliance regulations, and denial resolution.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily coding operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant coding for diagnoses, procedures, and services.
• Supervise coding staff, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to guidelines.
• Collaborate with billing and clinical teams to optimize revenue integrity.
• Lead process improvements to support reimbursement and compliance.
