Job summary

Qualifications

• Certification as a professional coder is required.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical coding experience with strong E/M background.
• Experience in podiatry and lab coding is preferred.
• 2–5 years in primary care and/or multi-specialty is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review provider documentation, coding and posting charges for healthcare services.
• Apply care to Primary Care, Lab/Pathology, Podiatry and more.
• Provide coding education and engage with assigned providers.
• Research governmental and payer rules to ensure CMS compliance.
• Identify best practices based on documentation and payer policies.
• Review, code and post charges for hospital outpatient and inpatient services where applicable.
• Work CCI/LMRP edits and denial rules; assist patients and staff with coding issues.
• Provide support for customer service related to coding and pricing.
• Perform chart audits to improve CMS guideline adherence and reimbursement.
