Job summary

Baptistfirst is seeking an Advanced Coding Specialist to join their team in Montgomery, Alabama. The ideal candidate will apply appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to inpatient and outpatient accounts and possess a CCS, CIC, or CCDS certification alongside a minimum of three years coding experience in an acute care setting. This full-time position requires strong computer skills and the ability to manage time effectively. Significant exposure to computer work and minimal noise levels are part of the working conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years coding in acute care setting required.
• CCS, CIC or CCDS required; RHIA or RHIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes (ICD-, CPT & modifiers) to inpatient or outpatient accounts.
• Queries physicians to improve/clarify documentation on inpatient records.
