Job summary

Carson Tahoe Health in Carson City, NV is seeking detail-oriented Clinical Coding Specialists at all levels to join the Information Management team. You will assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes across inpatient and outpatient services, abstract data accurately, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Collaborate with HIM, Revenue Cycle and clinical staff to resolve documentation discrepancies while meeting productivity and quality targets to support reimbursement and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Experience coding in clinical settings with accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT coding.
• Ability to abstract data and ensure compliance with coding guidelines.
• Familiarity with MS-DRGs, APCs, and POA indicators is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Ensure complete abstraction of medical record data and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with HIM, Revenue Cycle and clinical teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Meet productivity and quality standards to support reimbursement and data integrity.
