Qualifications

• 6 years of coding experience
• CPC/CMC/RHIT/RHIA/CCA certifications preferred upon hire
• Experience with CCI, Epic EHR and 3M coding software preferred
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology

Responsabilités

• Performs accurate and timely review of complex coding and abstracting of UTSW accounts utilizing ICD-10-CM code sets and department procedures.
• Performs complex coding activities meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Reviews and resolves coding edits and back-end coding denials.
• Maintains thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology with ongoing education.
• Supports home healthcare coding operations to minimize workflow disruption.
• May lead, train and mentor lower-level coding staff.
• Promotes professional communication and teamwork within the coding group.
• Follows UTSW policies including Remote Coding Agreement where applicable.
• Performs home healthcare authorizations processes as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
