Job summary

The Coder III at Tenet Physician Resources (Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute) in Florida coordinates, performs and completes Medicare compliance tasks. Coding includes outpatient and inpatient services, ensuring accuracy per CMS, NCQA and Tenet policy.

Collaborate with physicians and billing staff, update patient records, conduct claims follow-up, protect confidentiality under HIPAA, and pursue ongoing coding education for ICD-10, CPT-4 and HCPCS.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical coding and healthcare terminology
• Familiarity with HIPAA and patient confidentiality
• Strong organizational and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform Medicare compliance coding for outpatient and inpatient services
• Ensure accurate ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding per CMS and NCQA guidelines
• Update patient records with current insurance, contact information, and referring physicians
• Conduct claims follow-up and communicate needed documentation to physicians
• Maintain credentials and pursue ongoing coding education annually
