Job summary

firstPRO 360 is assisting our client in Conyers, GA with a Medical Billing Specialist role in a growing healthcare organization. This onsite position focuses on revenue cycle management, billing accuracy, and timely reimbursement, with preference for experience using Athena EMR.

You will process claims, verify patient and coverage details, follow up on denials, post payments, and support month-end reporting while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of medical billing experience.
• Experience with Athena EMR (athenahealth) preferred.
• Experience with Ortho/Spine or Surgical billing preferred.
• Solid knowledge of CPT/ICD-10, insurance guidelines, and EOBs.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers in a timely manner.
• Review and verify patient information, insurance coverage, and billing data for accuracy.
• Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and underpayments.
• Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile accounts.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and appeals.
• Work closely with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and healthcare billing regulations.
• Assist with month-end reporting and accounts receivable follow-up.
