Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years experience in medical billing or related duties.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Experience with medical billing software.
• Strong English usage, grammar and spelling; basic math skills.
• Typing assessment of 35 wpm or greater prior to onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Perform billing tasks assigned by management, including data entry, claim review, charge review, or AR follow-up.
• Provide input on system edits, processes, policies, and billing procedures to maximize revenues.
• Review reports to identify revenue opportunities and delays in authorizations/clearance.
• Communicate with providers, patients, coders, or others to ensure claims are correctly processed by payers.
• Appeal complex denials by reviewing payer policies, coding, contracts and medical records.
