Job summary

Care New England is seeking a Professional Biller II to handle patient inquiries, apply payments, manage denials, and coordinate with intermediaries and carriers within the Professional Billing Office. The role supports AR management, ensures accurate filing of claims, and maintains compliance and privacy guidelines while serving as a billing liaison.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with 3–5 years of third-party medical billing experience.
• Working knowledge of medical accounts receivable software and PC skills.
• Math skills and knowledge of GAAP, CPT and ICD-10 requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with initiative and judgment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor accounts receivable by age from date of service and by patient.
• Communicate with insurance carriers, patients, or staff to adjudicate accounts.
• Follow guidelines for contractual adjustments and bad debt write-offs.
• Address timely filing denials and maintain audit trails in systems.
• Post payments and denials to billing systems and generate secondary claims.
• Balance monthly spreadsheets and provide reporting to Finance Departments.
