You will review edits, maintain scrubber systems, post payments, balance monthly spreadsheets, ensure timely filing, and uphold privacy guidelines while delivering compassionate service to patients.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent with 3–5 years of third-party medical billing experience.
• Working knowledge of medical accounts receivable software and PC skills.
• Strong math skills and knowledge of GAAP, CPT and ICD-10.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrates initiative and independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Monitors accounts receivable by age from date of service and by patient.
• Communicates with insurance carriers, patients or medical office staff to adjudicate accounts.
• Posts insurance and patient payments; processes refunds and secondary claims.
• Prevents timely filing denials by following carrier guidelines and resolves denied charges.
• Maintains audit trails in information systems and reports on claims edits and scrubs.
• Keeps confidentiality and privacy standards in all dealings with patients and staff.
