The position emphasizes CPT/ICD coding knowledge, billing accuracy, and the ability to escalate issues to supervisors. Prior workers’ comp billing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year data entry/medical billing experience.
• Two years bill review experience in workers' comp preferred.
• Read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Strong CPT and ICD coding knowledge and fee schedules.

Responsabilités

• Codes medical bills with speed and accuracy per output standards.
• Screen for appropriateness and medical necessity of services.
• Use CPT and ICD codes and fee schedules for reimbursement decisions.
• Flag problem bills to supervisor for review.
• Communicate with clients/providers to clarify information.
• Process reconsideration requests as assigned.
• Possibly specialize by state or client area.
• Assist answering provider calls as needed.
