Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant II with experience in surgical subspecialties to support physicians in exams and procedures. The role includes venipuncture, EKGs, patient transport, charting in EMR, and pre/post-procedure care.

In-house mentorship and supervision of Level I staff are part of the scope. Requirements include a CMA or MA certificate and BCLS certification; at least 2 years of MA experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with CMA certificate.
• Medical Assistant certification from an approved program.
• 2+ years as a Medical Assistant.
• BCLS certification (AHA).
• Promotion to Level II based on annual performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and EKGs, manage patient flow, assist in exams and procedures.
• Enter orders into EMR and process prescription refills for physician review.
• Inventory and restock medical supplies; maintain sterile environment and logging systems.
