Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with MA certificate course.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Medical Assistant certificate from an approved school.
• BCLS certification – AHA issued.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care duties such as venipuncture, EKGs and assisting physicians.
• Handles clerical tasks: medical records, lab reports and chart management.
• Enters orders in EMR and processes prescription refills.
• Inventories, orders or restocks medical supplies.
• Sets up examination rooms and ensures proper sterilization.
• Maintains logging for refrigeration of medications and other processes.
• Checks expiration dates on meds and supplies; disposes as required.
• Maintains a safe, compliant work environment per policy.
• Schedules surgeries or coordinates with Surgical Coordinator.
• Provides training to Level I MA staff and manages MA schedules.
