Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant III for its Grosse Pointe outpatient clinic. The role centers on supporting physician-led care, maintaining patient flow, and performing technical and clinical tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities include collaborating with clerical staff, handling front-office duties, and assisting with program initiatives while ensuring high-quality patient care and service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited MA program or equivalent experience with clinical rotation.
• 1 year MA experience or CH MA internship plus 6 months MA experience is required; 2 years experience preferred.
• CMA/MA certifications within specified timelines or equivalent credentials as listed.
• LPN license in Michigan is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and promote primary and preventative care while supporting clinic operations.
• Manage patient flow and provide front office coverage as needed.
• Collaborate with clerical staff to optimize operations and patient throughput.
• Interact with outside facilities and agencies regarding patient care and insurance.
• Demonstrate leadership in process/workflow improvements and speak with leadership about accreditation.
• Provide care management and role in special programs or grants (e.g., CPC Plus, SIM, Vaccine for Child).
• Serve as a designated preceptor and/or super user for EPIC and related systems.
• Support advanced provider care, including assistance with procedures and scheduling.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Completion of a competency-based accredited MA program

1 year MA experience or CH MA internship and 6 months MA experience

2 years MA experience preferred

CRT-BLS – AHA/ARC 30 days from hire

CRT-CMA or CMA/Registered/ARMA/NCMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA etc. within 90 days

LPN license (LPN) State of Michigan upon hire
