Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Webster, TX location. Responsibilities include assisting physicians, managing patient flow, preparing rooms, and performing routine clinical tasks.

Roles range from Level 1 to Sr based on experience within a large oncology network. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a Medical Assistant program certificate, and BCLS certification within 3 months of hire; CMA preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Accredited Medical Assistant program certificate preferred.
• BCLS certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred; state requirements may vary.
• Experience levels vary by role: Level 1/2/Sr.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and maintain patient flow.
• Record vital signs, height, weight, allergies and medication changes.
• Obtain patient records prior to treatment.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and supplies.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer injections as delegated by RN or physician.
• Maintain room disinfection protocols and manage calls.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Certificate from accredited Medical Assistant program

Current BCLS certification within 3 months

Certified Medical Assistant preferred

Some state certifications may be required
