Job summary

Texas Urology Specialists in Webster, TX is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. This full-time role supports a Monday–Friday 8am–5pm schedule with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

The CMA will assist physicians, prepare exam rooms, record vital signs, and manage routine clinical and clerical tasks in a busy oncology/hematology clinic environment. Levels 1–Sr are defined by experience, with opportunities for phlebotomy and CPR certification growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Entry-level position requiring 0–3 years of experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
• Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Some state regulations may require specific certifications to work as a Medical Assistant.
• Minimum three years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant for Level 2.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred for Level 2.
• Minimum five years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting for Level Sr.
• Current CPR certification required for Level Sr.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
• Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by RN or physician.
• Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answers patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
• Informs physician of patient reschedules and no shows.
• Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc, as requested by supervisor or physician.
• May enter orders under a provider’s direction and supervision.
