Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Medical Assistant Certified (Sr. MA) to provide advanced clinical support under physician or RN supervision. You will assist with examinations, procedures, and EMR documentation, while upholding CLIA, HIPAA, NCQA and corporate policies.

The role requires five years of MA experience in complex or specialty settings, CMA certification and BLS; CPT preferred. You will schedule appointments, verify care eligibility, and act as a preceptor.

Qualifications

• Five years medical assistant experience in complex chronic disease management or in a specialty discipline.
• Certified Medical Assistant and BLS required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; CPT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations, procedures, and diagnostic studies under physician or RN supervision.
• Schedule patient appointments and ensure medical necessity compliance where applicable; verify eligibility for care.
• Document vital signs, medical history, and care provided in the EMR; support coordination of care.
