Job summary

OptumCare, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Medical Assistant II for our eastern Massachusetts practice network. You will provide advanced MA support to clinicians, manage patient flow, schedules, and documentation to ensure timely care.

Requirements include High School/GED and 3+ years in a clinical setting with at least one year as a Medical Assistant; BLS/ACLS may be preferred depending on specialty. Competitive pay and benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a clinical setting with at least one year as a Medical Assistant (bachelor’s or associate degree may substitute for one year of experience).
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred; ACLS may be required based on specialty.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a higher degree of technical expertise and serves as a resource to Medical Assistants.
• Manages patient flow, access and scheduling to optimize appointment availability.
• Coordinates care when clinicians are unavailable and ensures proper information reaches clinicians.
• Sorts and reviews clinician mail and monitors MyHealth messages; addresses questions as appropriate.
• Participates in care improvement activities and may train/new staff as needed.
