Job summary

LAIKA Studios in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Sr Media Systems Engineer to plan, install, and maintain media engineering tech across editorial suites, dailies, screening rooms, and post‑production delivery systems.

You will lead major installations, collaborate with developers on in‑house tools, train users, mentor junior staff, and ensure high‑quality color management, AV, and IP streaming workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in applied media or engineering in a professional setting.
• 3+ years audio‑video integration and design experience.
• Experience with large‑scale post‑production systems.
• Avid Media Composer and Nexis certifications preferred.
• Experience with color grading/matching and calibration.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows, and Mac systems.
• Familiarity with cloud review platforms (Frame.io, LucidLink, Aspera).
• Experience with IP-based workflows (NDI, Dante, SMPTE 2110).

Responsibilities

• Plan, install, configure, and support editorial hardware and software (Avid).
• Lead major installations and system upgrades.
• Collaborate with software developers on in‑house tools.
• Provide training and support to users.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Design conference room AV systems and review rooms.
