This full-time, in-office role requires strong DC media and public affairs expertise, leadership, and the ability to mentor junior staff while delivering measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience leading earned media strategies and securing national and policy-focused coverage.
• Public relations agency experience advising on complex communications, public affairs, or policy.
• Deep understanding of the DC media and policy landscape with established relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute earned media strategies that advance client objectives and shape conversations.
• Develop fresh storytelling angles that breakthrough the media ecosystem.
• Secure top-tier media across print, digital, and broadcast platforms through strong reporter relationships.
• Build and mentor team members on outreach and engagement best practices.
• Advise clients on media positioning, narrative development, spokesperson readiness, and stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee development of media materials ensuring consistency with objectives.
• Counsel clients on risk management, rapid response, and crisis communications.
• Measure impact of earned media efforts and refine strategy accordingly.
• Contribute to RH Strategic’s evolution by identifying new channels and opportunities.
