Job summary

Henry Ford Health seeks a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist at our Jackson hospital campus to perform routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and body fluids, ensuring accurate and timely results that support patient care.

You will lead and teach laboratory staff, establish standard work, and participate in R&D projects to introduce new technology and improved methods, contributing to high quality, compliant laboratory services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Medical Technology, or related science.
• Three years of progressive responsibility in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Certification at technologist or MLS level from a recognized agency (ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, ACS, HEW) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and other body fluids using manual techniques and laboratory instruments.
• Establish standard work and implement corrective and preventive actions to ensure consistent quality.
• Participate in applied research and development projects to introduce new technology and improved methods.
• Lead and teach laboratory functions, demonstrating technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge.
