Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Michigan is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to join our clinical lab team. You will perform routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and body fluids, and you will be responsible for accurate data reporting.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field, ASCP eligibility, and at least six months of lab experience. You will work with advanced equipment, uphold safety standards, and collaborate with investigators and clinicians

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework aligned to Medical Laboratory Science.
• Meets ASCP education eligibility routes or holds categorical scientist certification (BB, C, CG, CT, M, MB) or meets AAB/AMT eligibility.
• Six months of experience in a medical laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and other body fluids.
• Master and operate laboratory instrumentation and maintain quality control.
• Record and analyze results with accuracy in information systems.
• Deliver timely and accurate laboratory findings to support patient care decisions.
• Maintain safety and compliance with laboratory protocols and standards.
• Collaborate with the lab team to ensure smooth operations.

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework aligned to Medical Laboratory Science.

Meets ASCP education eligibility routes or holds categorical scientist certification (BB, C, CG, CT, M, MB) or meets AAB/AMT eligibility.

- Six months of experience in a medical laboratory setting.

- Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge in laboratory functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certification at the technologist or medical/clinical lab scientist level from ASCP, AMT, ASM, AAB, AABB, ACS, or HEW.
