Job summary

Alps Alpine NA, Inc. in Michigan seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and integrate electro-mechanical automotive systems. You will create detailed 3D models and drawings using NX/CATIA, and collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams.

The role emphasizes analysis, testing, documentation, and support for certifications such as IATF and TS16949. A bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and 8+ years of experience are required; master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (master’s degree preferred) and 8+ years in mechanical design for electro-mechanical automotive systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (NX, CATIA) and simulation tools (ANSYS, MATLAB).
• Strong understanding of electrical principles as applied to mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Analyze 3D models and drawings for feasibility.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to integrate systems.
• Conduct analyses and simulations to validate concepts and optimize performance.
• Develop and maintain design documentation including DFMEA, test plans, and reports.
• Perform testing and troubleshooting of prototypes and final products.
• Prepare Technical Design Review materials for customers during quotes.
• Support certification and compliance with quality systems (TISAX, TS16949, IATF).
