Job summary

HL Mando America Corporation in Auburn Hills, MI seeks a Mechanical Engineer III – Systems Engineering to lead design and optimization of robotic actuator systems across lifecycle, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, software, and controls teams to meet performance, cost, and reliability goals.

You will define system architecture, manage requirements, guide verification, and support production readiness, with travel limited to domestic/international as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in product development and design.

Responsibilities

• Define system architecture, operational concepts, and technical requirements for advanced product development.
• Develop and manage system requirements, interface definitions, specifications, and requirements traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead system integration across mechanical, electrical, software, controls, and manufacturing disciplines.
• Conduct system trade studies, technical analyses, and risk assessments to optimize performance, cost, schedule, and reliability.
• Develop and execute system verification and validation (V&V) strategies, including prototype integration, testing, and performance evaluation.
• Lead technical design reviews and ensure configuration management, technical baseline integrity, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Prepare and maintain system engineering documentation, including specifications, interface control documents, verification reports, and technical presentations.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to support product development, manufacturing readiness, production transition, and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and engineering methodologies to drive product innovation and improve system performance.
