Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Carlsbad, CA, seeks a Senior Specialist, Mechanical Engineer (Mechanisms). You will design, develop, and qualify precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical assemblies in a lab-focused, collaborative program team.

You will own major components, lead across the lifecycle, and prepare data packages while spending substantial time hands-on in the lab. Requires a TS/SCI clearance and strong CAD skills; 9/80 schedule offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 6 years of relevant experience or graduate degree with 4 years of related experience; or 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance required (active within last two years preferred).
• Favorable polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and qualify complex mechanical systems including precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Own significant system components and lead across the full product lifecycle.
• Create Technical Data Package components and support testing and integration.
• Develop test plans and perform test and evaluation of subsystems.
• Lead/design review participation and field support as needed.
