Kratos Unmanned Aerial Systems (KUAS), a division of Kratos Defense, seeks a Mechanical Thermal Analysis Engineer to lead thermal analysis on new unmanned aircraft. You will plan and execute tasks, develop thermal models, and present results to military and government customers.

The role requires hands-on experience with thermodynamics, fluids, heat transfer, and modeling tools, plus mentoring responsibilities within a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Thermal engineering experience in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
• Knowledge of heat transfer principles and materials properties.
• Experience with SINDA/FLUINT, Thermal Desktop, or TAK 2000.
• Ability to interpret experimental or simulation data to identify hotspots and overheating risks.
• Experience leading anomaly and failure investigations.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute thermal analysis tasks and present results to management and customers.
• Lead design reviews and communicate with suppliers and external stakeholders.
• Develop thermal network models for quick sizing and use SINDA tooling.
• Support system testing, data reduction, and reporting.
• Mentor less experienced engineers in thermal/fluids design best practices.
