Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (KUAS) is seeking a Mechanical Thermal Analysis Engineer to develop thermal and fluids analyses for unmanned aircraft systems and related subsystems.

You will plan, execute, and lead thermal modelling efforts and present findings to government customers and internal teams. You will size fuel and cooling systems, run SINDA/ Thermal Desktop analyses, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross‑functional design groups

Qualifications

• Requires BS degree in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in related engineering discipline, (2 Years with Masters Degree).
• Thermal engineering experience is required, including familiarity with thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
• Working level knowledge of heat transfer principles (conduction, convection, radiation) and thermal properties of materials necessary to model and assess temperature distribution, heat flow, and thermal stability.
• Experience running thermal modeling codes such as EATAN-TMS, MSC SINDA, SINDA/G, Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, or TAK 2000. The candidate should have the willingness and aptitude to learn MSC SINDA, SINDA/FLUINT, and Thermal Desktop.
• Experience with data analysis including the ability to interpret experimental or simulation data to identify hotspots, overheating risks, or inefficient cooling paths.
• Experience contributing to anomaly and failure investigations.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute analysis tasks for mechanical-thermal systems.
• Lead Thermal Engineer on very complex projects affecting multiple systems.
• Present results to management, customers, and military/government clients.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
• Mentor less experienced Thermal Engineers and other engineers on thermal/fluids design best practices.
