Mechanical/Thermal Engineer to own the mechanical and thermal design of network devices and racks, from requirements and simulation to prototype builds and volume production. You will perform CFD and FEA analyses, develop test plans, and drive multiple design iterations with cross-functional teams including electrical, firmware, manufacturing, and supply chain to deliver reliable, cost-effective cooling solutions for high-power data center

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years hardware design and validation experience.
• Experience in 3D CAD
• 2+ years working with ODM/JDM/CM suppliers in a product development environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and analyze thermal and mechanical requirements for network platforms and rack assemblies with cross-functional teams.
• Conceive and develop trade studies on heatsink geometries, fan curves, airflow, liquid cooling, TIM selections.
• Create and iterate 3D CAD models of enclosures, heatsinks, fan assemblies, cable management, and rack mounting.
• Perform CFD thermal simulations and mechanical analyses for all load conditions and compliance.
• Develop test plans with DOE for long-term reliability assessments.
• Define qualification plans and acceptance testing methods for volume production; produce complete design packages.
• Drive root cause analysis on field failures and work with operations to improve quality.
