Job summary

RTX in McKinney, TX is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Test Equipment Engineer to support EOIR systems built at the McKinney Consolidated Manufacturing Center. You will evaluate test results, identify root causes, and direct rework and retesting of assemblies.

Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, factory operations, and quality to improve yields, procedures, and cycle times; perform hands-on troubleshooting of optical and mechanical equipment; maintain uptime through preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience reading drawings, datasheets, and system specifications
• 2 years’ hands-on experience maintaining test equipment

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and troubleshoot test equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Investigate failure trends, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
• Hands-on troubleshooting of optical and mechanical equipment
• Post-delivery factory support of test equipment
• Support daily factory needs to maintain equipment uptime
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges in production
• Operate standard electrical equipment to support troubleshooting and evaluations
• Engage with suppliers for test equipment purchases and troubleshooting
