Job summary

Leidos is seeking a High-Level Mechanical Engineer for the CHGB program in Huntsville, AL to support integrated systems testing and form‑fit verification. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team on gravity/inertia calculations, vibration testing, fixturing, and modal/FEA analyses to ensure reliable vehicle delivery.

The ideal candidate has MIL‑STD‑810 experience, a DoD mindset, and proficiency with Creo/Windchill for drawings and data management.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in engineering or physics with 8+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 6+ years.
• Experience in MIL-STD-810 environments and manufacturing/test engineering.
• Ability to read/mechanically interpret drawings, schematics and specs.
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Determine CoG, Product of Inertia, and Moment of Inertia from data.
• Create and analyze Random Vibration, Ignition Shock, and Pyroshock profiles.
• Operate Electrodynamic Shaker systems for testing.
• Develop mechanical test fixturing and perform modal/FEA analyses.
• Develop, maintain, and execute test procedures; generate test reports.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to meet technical and schedule requirements.
