Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Development & Test Engineer I to lead the design, build, test and execution of complex internal test capabilities for spacecraft hardware.

You will manage end-to-end test projects, work with design and other test engineers, and develop mechanical ground support equipment to enable high-volume qualification and acceptance testing on production floors. Equity and strong benefits included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years aerospace engineering experience.
• Experience with NX Nastran, NX CAD and Teamcenter.
• Experience in environmental testing of components and systems.
• Experience with test automation and post-test data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-volume acceptance test infrastructure on the production floor.
• Advise on in-house test capabilities, limits, and future needs.
• Manage test projects end-to-end including resourcing, scheduling, budgeting.
• Hands-on work with test infrastructure implementation and validation.
• Work with design and other test engineers to iterate test concepts.
• Design complex MGSE to support test implementation.
