Job summary

Rocket Lab, based in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Senior Mechanical Test Engineer to lead end-to-end test development for spacecraft and subsystems. You will design, build, and validate test infrastructure and MGSE, working closely with design teams to set test requirements and ensure robust validation in demanding environments.

Candidates should have 8+ years in aerospace, with NX Nastran/NX CAD/Teamcenter experience, and hands-on test automation and data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
• Experience using NX Nastran, NX CAD, and Teamcenter.
• Experience in component and system-level environmental testing.
• Experience with test automation and post-test data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, build, test and execution of complex internal test capabilities.
• In-house test capability advancement and production floor integration.
• Manage test projects end-to-end including resourcing, scheduling and budgeting.
• Hands-on work with test infrastructure implementation and validation.
• Collaborate with design and other test engineers to define test requirements.
• Design MGSE to support test implementation.
