Job summary

Rocket Lab, based in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Senior Mechanical Test Engineer I to own end-to-end design, build, test and execution of complex internal test capabilities, including large-volume acceptance tests with automation.

You will lead test infrastructure development on the production floor, advise on in-house capabilities, manage projects end-to-end, and work closely with design and fellow test engineers to iterate concepts and define test requirements, including MGSE design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years engineering experience in aerospace.
• Experience with NX Nastran, NX CAD, and Teamcenter.
• Experience with environmental testing of components and systems.
• Experience with test automation and post-test data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-volume acceptance test infrastructure development and insertion into the production floor.
• Advise on in-house test capabilities, limits, and future needs.
• Manage test projects end-to-end, including resourcing, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Hands-on work with test infrastructure implementation and validation.
• Work closely with design and other test engineers to iterate through test concepts and determine requirements.
• Design complex MGSE to support test implementation.
