Millennium Space Systems (a Boeing company) in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Mechanical Technician Senior for second shift to support fabrication, integration and test of space flight systems and ground support equipment. This onsite role requires 5+ years in structures and assemblies and proficiency with blueprints and precision tools.

The position involves mentoring teammates, coordinating with engineering and manufacturing, and ensuring quality workmanship to meet mission requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of experience with Structures Assembly, Mechanical Assembly, Electrical Assembly, and/or Final Assembly.
• 3+ years following written and verbal work instructions.
• 3+ years of experience with blueprints, specs, assembly drawings, SOPs.
• 3+ years using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
• 3+ years working with adhesives, composites, epoxy, fabrics, honeycomb core, laminates/plastics, resins.
• Ability to stand/move for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting 20lbs or more regularly.

Responsabilités

• Assembles, installs, tests, checks out and inspects mechanical spacecraft assemblies per blueprints, drawings, specs, and procedures.
• Performs second party verifications and visual inspections to drawings and specs.
• Operates material handling equipment and various GSE as required.
• Operates machine tools such as drill press, grinders, chop saw, and other tools.
• Interacts with Design/ Manufacturing Eng, Manufacturing, Materials, Procurement, Shipping on process issues affecting quality.
• Cross-trains and mentors new hires.
